What is the ProjectKindness Mobile Van Outreach Programme?
We recently shared a story about one of our newest initiatives, our outreach van, which you can read in full here. Essentially, we’re committed to showing up at regular locations around Sydney in our PK van, stocked with basic human necessities. These items include blankets, non-perishable foods, and toiletries which are given to anyone in need who visits us. It takes a lot to ask for help, and we are more than happy to give it.
How is Orica’s funding helping ProjectKindness?
Orica’s funding is helping ProjectKindess, and our Kindness Recipients, in a few different ways.
- ProjectKindness is putting the $4,500 sum toward the purchase of non-perishable groceries to stock the van. An amount like this will grant us at least a couple of months’ worth of items that we may have struggled to re-stock otherwise.
- With this funding, we can take a bit of a breather from stressing about having to find ways to fund our work and return more of our time and focus toward connecting with our Kindness Recipients and distributing much-needed assistance.
- Kindness Recipients can rest assured our van will be fully stocked with food whenever they visit, so they can take what they need for themselves and their families, reducing some of the anxiety that comes with not knowing if you’ll have enough food for the week ahead.
